Gielgud Theatre, London
Bringing Ivo van Hove and Rufus Wainwright together for their first collaboration, the new musical Opening Night explores the highs and lows of making a Broadway show.
The cast and company of The Second Woman, a new play, are in previews on Broadway. Myrtle Gordon, the leading actress, struggles to connect with her role and is plagued by personal and professional doubts, intensified by the death of a young fan she witnesses outside the theatre one night. The team rally around Myrtle as she battles her demons, confronts her past, and contemplates her future. The question is, will they make it to opening night?
